Sidecar 2018/19 – Susana Esteban & Ricardo Diogo

The Sidecar 2018/19 edition is the result of a collaboration between Susana Esteban and Ricardo Diogo, the acclaimed producer and winemaker of the iconic Barbeito winery on Madeira Island. The Sidecar project stems from Susana’s desire to share experiences with leading winemakers, creating free interpretations of the unique vineyards of the Serra de São Mamede.

This red wine is a profound and unusual expression of Alicante Bouschet, sourced from a 70-year-old vineyard and crafted through a rare approach: a blend of two vintages — 2018 and 2019 — aged in old barrels that previously held Italian wines. The result is a highly limited edition of great depth and complexity, marked by elegance and authenticity.
