Origin & Concept

Tira o Véu Branco 2022 is born from an exceptional 85-year-old vineyard located at 700 metres of altitude in the Serra de São Mamede. The grapes come from a field blend of traditional white varieties native to the region.

This white wine was partially vinified with skin contact (30%) in amphorae, following the ancestral Alentejo talha tradition. An unusual phenomenon occurred during ageing: the spontaneous formation of a veil of flor, similar to wines from the Jura or Jerez, adding a rare layer of aromatic complexity in the Portuguese context.

Tasting Note

The nose shows intensity and aromatic complexity, led by orange peel, salinity and dried herbs — a clear reflection of the influence of the flor veil. The palate is subtle and elegant, with fine texture and a uniquely mineral register. Skin contact is felt discreetly, adding body and dimension without compromising freshness or precision.
