Piedmont holds a very special place in the story of Guilherme Corrêa and, by extension, in the DNA of Temple Wines. It was during Guilherme's formative years in Italy, under the mentorship of the legendary Gianfranco Soldera, that Piedmont became one of the pillars of his wine education. Travelling through Italy alongside Soldera, he gained early access to some of the country's most important producers and vineyards, an extraordinary privilege for someone so young.
Since then, Piedmont has remained central to our understanding of great Italian wine.
It is one of the world's great limestone-based wine regions, and one that resonates deeply with us for its rare combination of depth, perfume, structure, tension and ageing potential. The finest wines of Piedmont possess a unique ability to be both powerful and elegant, combining intensity with finesse while always maintaining a profound sense of identity and place.
We are privileged to work with two exceptional producers who embody these qualities.
The first is Cavalotto, a tiny and highly sought-after estate that produces some of the most emotionally compelling and traditionally styled wines in the region. Their wines are admired for their precision, elegance and unwavering commitment to the classic expressions of Barolo.
Alongside Cavalotto, we are proud to represent Oddero, one of Piedmont's historic and most respected family estates. For generations, Oddero has been recognised as one of the leading names of the Langhe, producing Barolo wines that combine depth, purity and remarkable ageing potential. The estate recently reaffirmed its position among the region's elite when its celebrated Barolo Vignarionda received a perfect 100-point score from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, highlighting one of the most iconic and revered vineyard sites in all of Piedmont.
