We take particular pride in this collection. Here you will find some of the most innovative, distinctive and exciting wine projects not only in the Alentejo, but in all of Portugal. These are also some of the producers that most closely reflect the philosophy and values of Temple Wines.
Cortes de Cima has been part of our journey from the very beginning and represents an avant-garde, forward-thinking vision of the Alentejo. Under the leadership of Anna Jørgensen, the estate has reached an extraordinary level of elegance, precision and terroir expression. The wines are sourced from vineyards in the Vidigueira, planted on limestone and granite soils, as well as from sandy Atlantic-influenced sites near Vila Nova de Milfontes. The result is a rare and compelling interpretation of the region: naturally fresh, mineral, energetic wines with remarkable balance and moderate alcohol levels.
At the opposite end of the region, Susana Esteban explores the dramatic landscapes of Portalegre, working with high-altitude vineyards that often exceed 600 metres above sea level. Old and ancient vines, including celebrated parcels such as Centenária, give rise to wines defined by elegance, authenticity and exceptional ageing potential. These are wines with deep historical roots and a refined, contemporary interpretation of classic Alentejo terroir.
Completing this vision are the wines of Gerações da Talha, based in Vila de Frades, the spiritual home of Portugal's traditional talha winemaking. Produced on a small scale with minimal intervention and extensive manual work, these wines demonstrate that tradition can also be delicate, vibrant and full of finesse. They offer an intimate and authentic expression of one of Portugal's oldest winemaking cultures.
Together, these producers reveal a side of the Alentejo that often surprises even experienced wine lovers. Rather than power and richness alone, these wines emphasise freshness, precision, terroir and individuality.
This collection brings together wines that challenge expectations while remaining deeply connected to the landscapes and traditions from which they originate. It is a portrait of a modern Alentejo, where innovation and heritage coexist in some of Portugal's most compelling wines.
