Coessens Brut Nature Largillier is one of the most distinctive terroir-driven Champagnes produced today, crafted by Jérôme Coessens in the Côte des Bar. Sourced exclusively from the historic Largillier monopole vineyard in Ville-sur-Arce, this single-vineyard Champagne embodies a Burgundian vision of terroir, where one site, one grape variety and one vintage reveal their full identity without compromise.

The 3.36-hectare Largillier vineyard is planted entirely with Pinot Noir on Kimmeridgian limestone soils, geologically closer to the great terroirs of Chablis than to much of Champagne. Certified organic since 2021, the vineyard is farmed with meticulous attention to soil health and biodiversity, reflecting Coessens' commitment to expressing the purest character of the site.

Produced exclusively from the 2020 harvest and disgorged in November 2024, Coessens Brut Nature Largillier receives no dosage, allowing the vineyard's personality to shine with complete transparency. The grapes are gently pressed using modern Coquard presses, fermented at low temperatures and aged for nine to ten months, with full malolactic fermentation contributing texture and balance.

Awarded 94 points by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, this Champagne is recognised as one of the finest examples of terroir-focused Pinot Noir Champagne from the Côte des Bar.

The nose is both expansive and refined, revealing aromas of mirabelle plum, lemon oil, ripe cherry and subtle smoky nuances. Beneath the fruit lies a pronounced mineral backbone, reflecting the limestone-rich soils that define the character of Largillier.

On the palate, the wine combines impressive depth and concentration with remarkable precision and tension. Ripe fruit flavours are supported by vibrant acidity and a chalky, mineral structure that carries through to a long, focused and persistently saline finish. The absence of dosage enhances the wine's purity, delivering an exceptionally transparent expression of place.

For lovers of grower Champagne, single-vineyard wines and terroir-driven Pinot Noir, Coessens Brut Nature Largillier stands among the most compelling and authentic Champagnes available today.
