Antoine Lepetit de la Bigne (La Pierre Ronde) Meursault 1er Cru “Les Charmes-Dessus” 2024

Burgundy – France

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The Producer

Antoine Lepetit de la Bigne is one of the most promising figures of Burgundy’s new generation. Trained in agronomy and oenology, he began his career outside the wine world before fully dedicating himself to biodynamic viticulture and the authentic expression of terroir.

Following formative experiences with Olivier Humbrecht and, most notably, eight years alongside Anne-Claude Leflaive at Domaine Leflaive, he developed a demanding and sensitive approach, focused on precision and purity.

In 2021, he founded Domaine de la Pierre Ronde in Beaune, working with grapes sourced from organic and biodynamic growers, often under his direct guidance. His wines stand out for their texture, balance, and strong sense of place.

The Wine

The Meursault 1er Cru “Les Charmes-Dessus” 2024 comes from vines around 70 years old, located in the upper part of the Charmes climat, on a gentle slope with high-quality clay-limestone soils.

In the glass, it shows a medium lemon colour with brilliant clarity. From the first impression, it reveals class and depth. The aromatic profile combines ripe Chardonnay fruit with a well-defined freshness, suggesting peach, ripe citrus, and subtle mineral nuances.

On the palate, it impresses with its energy and structure. The mid-palate is vibrant, with tension and even a slight tannic grip that adds complexity. Despite the natural richness of the terroir, the wine remains precise and restrained, avoiding excess and showing remarkable balance and ageing potential.

A high-level Meursault, combining density, freshness and sophistication, with much yet to reveal in bottle.
