We never went looking for the new Clos Rougeard. As if by magic, it appeared in front of us. The intense emotion of our first sip reverberated throughout the room, also enchanting those who tasted with us. The confirmation came with the second bottle opened: the Foucault legacy will continue strong, firm and faithful to its roots. Sylvain Dittière, the man in charge of La Porte Saint Jean, is Charlie Foucault’s son-in-law and, as a natural vigneron, has been working his old vines organically since the domaine was founded in 2010. In his icy cellar, dug directly into the limestone bedrock during the 13th century, nothing is removed or added to the wines and the extractions are carried out like infusions, long and delicate. Microproduction, stratospheric quality, immense finesse and pure emotion!

50% of the vines are 70 years old and the rest are younger. 24 months of aging in wood of various uses.
