The premier cru Mareuil-sur-Aÿ carries the prestige of shaping some of Champagne's most powerful and lively wines, such as Philipponnat's Clos des Goisses, and it is on its steep slopes that Jean-Paul Hébrart offers us an intimate version of the region, crafting Champagnes that are creamy and rich in fruit yet grounded in solid local minerality and character. It is very likely that this wonderful producer's dynamic and generous style will win over anyone's heart, regardless of their experience with terroir Champagnes.
Description
Marc Hébrart's Blanc de Blancs 1er Cru Brut shows what happens when precision, noble terroir and time come together. With Chardonnay from Mareuil-sur-Aÿ (Premier Cru) and from the Grand Crus Oiry and Chouilly, this cuvée offers a glorious balance of structure and delicacy.
Although it is the house's "entry level" Champagne, it shows depth and elegance worthy of higher cuvées: extremely fine bubbles, creamy mousse, notes of white flowers, peach, brioche and a saline finish that underlines its finesse. A refined Champagne, ideal both for celebrations and for more contemplative moments.
