Pormenor Vinhos was founded in the Douro in 2013 by Pedro Coelho, with a philosophy rooted in detail and the pure expression of terroir. Working with high-altitude vineyards and embracing a minimal intervention approach, the project is defined by wines of freshness, precision and restraint, challenging the traditionally warmer style of the region.


THE WINE

Pormenor Reserva Branco 2023 stands as one of the most complete and structured expressions of the project, based on a selection of very old vineyards, between 80 and 100 years of age, planted at 550 to 600 meters of altitude, predominantly north-facing, on schist and mica-schist soils.

The blend is led by Rabigato (80%), complemented by Malvasia Fina (20%), achieving a balance between tension, structure and aromatic complexity. The slower ripening provided by altitude and exposure results in a wine of remarkable precision, where natural acidity plays a central role.

Fermentation takes place in barrels of different sizes (225, 228 and 500 liters), where the wine ages on fine lees for one year without bâtonnage, favoring definition and purity over overt texture. In 2023, the introduction of an additional six-month period in stainless steel after barrel aging allowed for further refinement, enhancing tension and clarity.

With a dry profile and notably high acidity, supported by a very low pH, the wine shows a firm, vertical structure without sacrificing volume or depth. Aromatically, it reveals notes of citrus, flowers and wild herbs, alongside a pronounced mineral character.

On the palate, it is precise, vibrant and incisive, with a fine texture and a remarkable balance between concentration and freshness. The finish is long, dry and marked by a persistent saline edge, underscoring both origin and purity.

A white of significant aging potential, combining depth and tension in a style that is both austere and elegant.


FOOD PAIRING

Particularly suited to more structured dishes such as roasted fish, richer seafood or white meats. It also pairs beautifully with refined vegetable-based cuisine or dishes where acidity and salinity can balance richness and complexity.
