Aged for 24 months in a mix of new and used French oak barrels, providing depth, complexity and excellent ageing potential.
Tasting Notes
Produced only in exceptional vintages, this wine is a tribute to Gustav von Furstenberg, father of Ann Frost.
A striking blend of Aragonês and Merlot, evoking the character of the great Right Bank wines of Bordeaux.
The nose opens with deep notes of black plum, cured meat and mineral umami, complemented by touches of green pepper and pine forest.
Oak ageing is seamlessly integrated, with polished tannins and vibrant acidity supporting the structure and promising long life.
An elegant Atlantic interpretation with a distinct signature.

Location: Gradil, Mafra — south-facing vines on irregular, rolling terrain
Soils: Clay-limestone
Climate: Atlantic — cool, humid mornings and warm afternoons with maritime breezes
Viticulture & Winemaking
Hand-harvested into 20 kg crates.
After destemming and gentle crushing, grapes are transferred via conveyor belt into stainless-steel vats.
Cold maceration, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and a long post-fermentation maceration with gentle pump-overs.
A second description (internal to the estate) adds:
• ~70% destemmed grapes, remainder fermented as whole clusters
• Fermentation in open lagares with frequent foot treading
• Minimal intervention defines the wine’s style
