Antoine Lepetit de la Bigne (La Pierre Ronde) Meursault “Les Perchots” 2024

Burgundy – France

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The Producer

Antoine Lepetit de la Bigne is today one of the most fascinating figures of Burgundy’s new generation. Trained as an agronomist and oenologist, he began his career outside the wine world as an industrial strategy consultant before following his true vocation.

His journey includes defining experiences with Olivier Humbrecht at Domaine Zind-Humbrecht and, above all, with Anne-Claude Leflaive, with whom he worked for eight years at the iconic Domaine Leflaive in Puligny-Montrachet, deepening his understanding of biodynamic viticulture.

In 2021, he founded Domaine de la Pierre Ronde in Beaune, producing wines from grapes sourced from growers practicing organic or biodynamic farming, often under his direct guidance. His approach favours minimal intervention, moderate use of sulphur and precise ageing in barrel, foudre or amphora, always in service of terroir expression.

From Aligoté to the great Meursault wines, his cuvées are defined by finely judged ripeness and a profile that is rich, layered and deeply expressive.

From the 2022 vintage onwards, the domaine reached a new level of precision and intensity. The arrival of these wines in Portugal, in very limited quantities, confirms Antoine as a true rising star of Burgundy.

The Wine

The Meursault “Les Perchots” 2024 comes from old vines, around 60 years of age, located just outside the village of Meursault towards Volnay. This is a gently sloping terroir with deep clay-limestone soils, rich in clay and abundant limestone gravel, favouring wines with generous texture and solid structure.

In the glass, it shows a medium lemon colour. The aromatic profile is open and generous, with notes of ripe apple and pear, alongside hints of stone fruit and a broader, more sun-kissed expression.

On the palate, it offers volume and texture, with the characteristic breadth of Meursault, though with slightly less tension than other cuvées from the producer. The acidity is more moderate, favouring a more enveloping and accessible style, with a gastronomic profile driven by fruit and texture.

An expressive and generous Meursault, with a distinctive identity within the domaine’s style.
