Description
One of the most quietly majestic domaines in all of Piedmont, Cavallotto has been crafting timeless wines in Castiglione Falletto since 1928. This noble commune — the cradle of restrained power — is where elegance transcends time, and few embody that ethos better than the Cavallotto family. As critic Antonio Galloni has said: “Cavallotto may well be the greatest Barolo producer few people have ever heard of.”
The Pinner 2022 is a delightful rarity: a white wine made entirely from Pinot Noir, harvested from a small plot planted in 1972. The grapes are gently pressed before fermentation, with no skin contact, yielding a white wine from red grapes, without color extraction.
Following fermentation, the wine is aged sûr lie for nine months in stainless steel, gaining texture, volume and aromatic complexity. The result is a unique and elegant white — floral, citrusy, mineral and quietly profound — born from the same terroir that produces some of the world’s greatest Barolos.
