Sergio Marani Verdicchio di Matelica 2023 is an authentic expression of one of Italy’s most celebrated white grape varieties, produced in the heart of Matelica, in the Marche region. Sourced from historic family vineyards cultivated by generations of the Marani family, this wine reflects the unique character of a terroir shaped by the Sibillini Mountains and a continental climate that promotes slow, balanced ripening.

Azienda Agricola Sergio Marani is rooted in a long family tradition of viticulture. After decades dedicated to preserving old vineyards and local winemaking heritage, Nicola Marani brought a renewed vision to the estate, focusing on bottled wines that showcase the remarkable quality and identity of the family’s historic vineyard holdings.

In the glass, it displays a bright straw-yellow colour with green reflections. The nose is elegant and distinctly characteristic of Verdicchio di Matelica, offering delicate floral notes alongside aromas of green apple, white peach and subtle hints of fresh almond. On the palate, it is vibrant and balanced, driven by crisp acidity and a refined texture that leads to a long, mineral and harmonious finish.

This is a versatile and terroir-driven Italian white wine, ideal for lovers of Verdicchio, fine Italian wines and distinctive Mediterranean whites. A compelling introduction to one of Italy’s most underrated and age-worthy white wine appellations.

Food Pairing

Perfect with shellfish, grilled fish, seafood pasta, delicate risottos, Mediterranean vegetable dishes and light appetisers. Its freshness and precision also make it an excellent aperitif wine.
