Description
Founded in 1612 by Capuchin monks at the foot of the majestic Schlossberg hill, Domaine Weinbach is a historic benchmark for Alsatian wine. Acquired by the Faller family in 1898, this iconic estate has helped shape the region’s identity through its extraordinary wines.
For over two decades, the Fallers have embraced biodynamic viticulture as a conscious and respectful way to express the full complexity of Alsace's terroirs — at the intersection of France and Germany.
The Cuvée Théo 2020 is a vivid example of dry Alsatian Riesling at its most elegant and mineral. Sourced from estate vines in the legendary Clos des Capucins, where silty-clay sand overlays granitic gravel, this site encourages early, even ripening and yields wines of structure and aromatic purity.
Naturally fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for 10 months in old foudres, this Riesling shows clarity and energy. The nose reveals white blossoms and lime zest, while the palate brings crunchy green apple, fine minerality and a juicy acidity that lingers on the finish.
The expressive 2020 vintage did not go unnoticed by the critics:
17 points – Jancis Robinson, who described it as:
"Exotic, rich and piercing nose, with truly thrilling fruit. Crunchy feel and deep flavours."
