Producer:
If Domaine Marquis d'Angerville has considered expanding beyond the Côte d'Or, it's because something very special is about to happen. The creation of Domaine du Pélican in the Jura took four years of work until Yves Herody, the geologist responsible for mapping the soils of d'Angerville in Burgundy, found the most precious things in the region - including vines from Jacques Puffeney. When Jura and Burgundy merge, an immense charge of energy, emotion and refinement is unleashed with every bottle opened.
Savagnin of breed and verticality extracted from two of the best terroirs for this very serious white variety. The plots En Barby and Grand Curoulet. The soils are very diverse where this incredible variety is born Savagnin. Triassic marl of various colors; Bajocian limestone rocks over gray marl; and Liassic marl/limestone.
Wine:
Acidity that shakes the winery floor. A more vertical and linear wine than the Domaine's Chardonnay. Ouillé means that the wine, when aged in old, large barrels, has been attested and has not developed the veil of flower in its profile.
