Le Puy Émilien 2021
AOC Francs Côtes de Bordeaux, France
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Description
It is almost unbelievable that Le Puy Émilien remains a hidden gem even among seasoned Bordeaux connoisseurs — despite its 400-year history.
Authentic and true to its terroir, this wine is born from the limestone soils of the small and discreet AOC Francs, neighbouring Saint-Émilion. It stands apart through biodynamic farming, a natural winemaking philosophy, and vinifications free of artifice — rare practices in Bordeaux, with a legacy dating back to 1868 when the use of sulphites was already being questioned at the estate.
Rich in personality and seductive in profile, this red wine escapes the heavy, oak-driven style of the left bank. Here, purity of fruit and mineral energy take centre stage.
