Domaine Roland Lavantureux
Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir
⭐ Jasper Morris (Inside Burgundy)
92–95 points
Tasted: July 2024
Drinking window: 2028–2036
“Pale lemon colour. As last year, the bouquet of the Vaudésir shows altogether more finesse than the Bougros. In fact, the nose is becoming rapidly more exciting. A central core of really intense white fruit, stones, a light lemon rinse but it is the white orchard fruit which dominates, impressively.”
Description
Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir is one of the most emblematic cuvées of Domaine Roland Lavantureux, sourced from one of the most iconic climats in the entire Chablisien. This cuvée comes from the upper part of the slope, with full south-facing exposure — a privileged position that gives the wine power, depth, and intensity, while also resulting in a naturally more reserved expression in its youth.
Produced by the domaine since 2010, Vaudésir is the result of a long-term partnership based on the purchase of must at harvest, covering approximately 0.55 hectares of the appellation. The domaine’s approach prioritizes precision, finesse, and absolute respect for the Grand Cru character of the terroir, allowing the wine to reveal itself progressively over the years.
Compared with other more robust Grands Crus, Vaudésir stands out for its aromatic finesse, balance, and structural elegance, while always maintaining a deep and persistent mineral backbone.

Tasting Notes
Pale lemon-yellow color. The nose reveals remarkable finesse, with an intense core of white orchard fruit, notes of stone, a subtle citrus hint, and great aromatic precision.
On the palate, it is broad and balanced, combining richness of fruit with a progressive minerality that asserts itself through the mid-palate and leads to a long, deep, and elegant finish. A Grand Cru of great class and outstanding aging potential.
