Description
The stunning hills of classic Valpolicella yield extraordinary wines in many styles — from vibrant reds to dramatic “da meditazione” passito wines. No other producer in the region has achieved the legendary status of Giuseppe Quintarelli, who passed away in 2012. His enological heir, Luca Fedrigo, worked alongside Bepi for 10 years in both vineyard and cellar. Under the maestro’s guidance, Luca learned the timeless gestures and traditions of Valpolicella. He later founded his own artisanal project, L’Arco, in Negrar — just meters from Quintarelli — continuing the legacy of this iconic vinaiolo.
The Arcum 2020, crafted by Luca Fedrigo at L’Arco Vini, is a red that embodies the true spirit of classic Valpolicella — a wine balancing ripe fruit, aromatic intensity, and elegant poise. Inspired by the ripasso technique, it marries artisanal tradition with contemporary finesse.
The grapes — Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Molinara — are hand-harvested from vineyards in Negrar (Verona). Fermentation is spontaneous, with aging in wood, producing a signature style: soulful, layered, and profound wines.
On the nose, Arcum reveals complex aromas of ripe cherry, cassis, and dried fruits, with subtle hints of spice, pepper, and orange peel. The palate is rich and full-bodied, supported by polished tannins and fresh acidity, offering a long, lingering finish with notes of wild herbs and spice.
