About the Producer
Since 1928, Domaine Marc Sorrel has produced exceptional wines on the famed Hermitage hill in Tain-l’Hermitage. Known for its intense, pure and long-lived wines, the domaine is now led by Guillaume Sorrel, son of Marc, who has elevated the estate to the top tier of French wine criticism, receiving 3 stars from La Revue du Vin de France in 2024. Production remains limited, focused on terroir-driven wines of identity, tradition and precision.
Viticulture & Winemaking
This Crozes-Hermitage Blanc 2023 is crafted exclusively from old-vine Marsanne grown on rare kaolinite soils, which impart marked minerality. Fermentation and ageing take place in used French oak barrels, preserving freshness and complexity. The wine is bottled without heavy filtration, maintaining the full expression of its terroir.
Tasting Notes
This white stands out for its expressive, floral aromatic profile: preserved lemon, almond blossom, white peach, quince, fennel and yellow flowers (acacia, hawthorn), with a subtle touch of honey and hazelnut.
On the palate, it is silky and vibrant, with creamy texture, fresh acidity and a long, saline, mineral finish.
A Crozes blanc that combines Marsanne’s opulence and finesse with a precise, chiselled ending — a benchmark in the category.
