Nicolas Joly ‘Coulée de Serrant’ 2023
Savennières-Coulée de Serrant – Loire, France
100% Chenin Blanc · Certified Biodynamic · Monopole AOC
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Producer
Coulée de Serrant is one of France’s most sacred terroirs — a 7-hectare AOC monopole, vinified solely by Nicolas Joly, the global reference in biodynamic viticulture. Originally planted by Cistercian monks in 1130, this vineyard has produced wine without interruption for nearly nine centuries.
Perched in a small south-facing valley above the Loire, this site benefits from morning mists, ancient vines (some planted in 1910), shallow red schist soils and a palpable, almost mystical energy. The wines born here have undeniable soul: tense, vibrant, structured, long-lived — always unique, always alive.
Farmed without chemicals since 1980 and vinified with minimal intervention: native yeasts, no technical corrections, minimal sulfur and aging in old barrels. A living wine, best decanted and approached as a sensory and spiritual experience.

Tasting notes (suggestive)
Intense, austere and deep. Aromas of baked apple, orange peel, dried flowers, beeswax and warm stone. The palate is textured, nervy and tactile, with a saline finish. A wine that evolves in the glass and over time — decanting is essential. A contemplative experience.

Iberico pork with celeriac purée
