Uriel, the “angel of light”, lends its name to this Sicilian Grillo that embodies the brightest and most refreshing side of the Mediterranean island. Sourced from vineyards located between Salemi and Vita, around 25 km from Marsala, this white wine is made from 20-year-old vines planted on clay-sandy soils at 500 metres of altitude.

With aromas of stone fruit, wildflowers and a subtle exotic touch of mango, Uriel 2023 is both generous and crisp, balancing minerality, tropical fruit and a dry, elegant profile. Fermentation in stainless steel and ageing on fine lees provide a soft texture, good persistence and a tense, refreshing finish.

Crafted by Riccardo Campinoti (Le Ragnaie, Montalcino) in partnership with Ronnie Sanders (Vine Street Imports), the Poggio Anima project is dedicated to producing authentic, soulful and approachable wines.

Curiosities

Uriel is the archangel of light and protection, symbolising the resilience of Grillo in Sicily’s warm climate.
The Poggio Anima project expresses different Italian regions through wines named after angels and demons — each cuvée representing a distinct personality.
Although Grillo is often associated with Marsala, here it shines in an elegant, dry expression.
